Dr. Susan Howlett is a Professor of Pharmacology and Medicine at Dalhousie University. She has almost 30 years of experience as a researcher and is at the forefront of cardiovascular research, particularly in sex and age differences in heart disease.
Internationally recognized for her pioneering work on sex hormones in heart disease and on frailty, Dr. Howlett is regularly called on to present her work at international scientific meetings. She has presented work on frailty at Parliament Hill and was the sole Canadian invited by the NIH to participate in a working group examining sex disparities in basic science research.
She has over 125 publications in leading scientific journals and is committed to addressing the societal importance of frailty and aging as well as women’s heart health.
