Professor Kenneth Rockwood brings over 25 years experience as a key collaborator and research lead on numerous studies in geriatric medicine and dementia. He holds the Kathryn Allen Weldon Chair in Alzheimer Disease at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada.
In addition to being a specialist in internal medicine and geriatric medicine, he has a masters degree in Public Administration and has fulfilled several roles in advising on public policy at both the provincial and federal levels. He has published more than 400 peer-reviewed papers, including in such prestigious medical journals such as the Lancet and the New England Journal of Medicine.
Professor Rockwood has received dozens of awards over the last 20 years, including prestigious prizes and lectureships from the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, China, Japan, Singapore and Italy, as well as several from Canada. He founded DGI in 2001.
